The whole range,
not a highlight reel.
Outdoor blind colour is two separate decisions. The frame is powder-coated — 17 Interpon Textura colours on the blinds Nu Style builds itself, and a seven-colour range on Zipscreen® and Ziptrak®. The fabric is a woven mesh from 85% to 99% blockout, chosen for how much you want to see out.

The frame is chosen to disappear.
A pelmet sits in plain view above the opening all day whether the blind is down or not, so the frame colour decides whether an installation reads as part of the building or as something bolted underneath it. Matched to the gutter, the fascia or the window frames, it stops being visible within a week. Matched to the fabric instead, it announces itself for the life of the blind.
The exception is deliberate contrast — black frames against white render on a modern facade, where the line is the point. That is a design decision rather than a default, and worth making on purpose.
Galaxy · Universal · Luna
Seventeen colours, powder-coated in Malaga.
The blinds Nu Style manufactures itself carry the widest frame range — the full Interpon Textura architectural powder coat, including the Colorbond® collection, so a frame can be matched to an existing roof, gutter, fascia or window frame.
Codes are Interpon references — quote them to your consultant if you already know what the house is coated in. Custom Interpon or Dulux colour matching is available, as is an upgraded coastal powder-coat specification for beachside sites. Both are quoted at the measure.
Zipscreen® · Ziptrak®
Seven colours — and four separate decisions.
The licensed track-guided systems run a tighter frame range. What they add instead is component-level control: the pelmet, the track, the bottom bar and the post are each specified separately, so a track can vanish into a dark post while the pelmet matches the gutter.
Ziptrak® also offers Surfmist in a matt finish for Colorbond® sections alongside the satin used on extruded sections. Custom Interpon and Dulux matching is available on both systems.
The counter-intuitive part about fabric.
Darker fabric lets you see out better. That surprises almost everyone. A dark weave absorbs the light hitting it instead of scattering it, so your eye looks straight through to the garden rather than at a bright screen. A light fabric keeps the space feeling brighter, but you see less through it and the weave shows more clearly from outside.
Openness is a separate axis from colour, and it is the one that governs heat and privacy. The number in a fabric name is how much it blocks: 85 is the most open, 99 is nearly solid. Every mesh in the range cuts up to 95% of UV regardless of where it sits on that scale — what changes is view, airflow and daytime privacy.
HVG
- HVG View 85
- The most open weave in the range. Best outward view and airflow, cuts glare and UV, lets the most light through.
- HVG Plus 94
- The everyday choice. Blocks most of the sun while the alfresco still feels light and breathes.
- HVG Perform 97
- A step tighter than 94. Noticeably more shade and privacy for a small loss of view.
- HVG Ultra 99
- Near-full block. The usual pick for a west-facing opening that cops the afternoon sun.
- HVG Extreme
- Visiontex® Extreme — a PVC-coated high-tensile mesh built for wide spans, blocking over 99% of UV. This is the performance option for a large opening, not the darkness option: it still breathes.
Nolan Vistaweave
- Vistaweave 85
- Nolan’s most open weave — the one to choose when the view matters more than the shade.
- Vistaweave 95
- The middle of the Vistaweave range, and the most commonly specified.
- Vistaweave 98
- Tighter again, for openings that need real privacy during the day.
- Vistaweave 99
- Near-full block, in the Nolan weave and colour range.
- Vistaweave MAX
- Nolan’s closed mesh at 650 gsm — total view block and complete privacy. The closest thing to a blackout you can get on a track-guided blind, though it is still a mesh rather than an opaque fabric.
Clear PVC — Ziptrak® only
Ziptrak® also takes Achilles clear PVC in 0.75 mm and 1.0 mm. PVC is not a mesh: it blocks weather completely and holds winter warmth in, but it does not breathe, so a sealed alfresco can overheat on a hot afternoon. Zipscreen® is mesh only — if clear PVC is what the space needs, Ziptrak or café blinds are the systems to look at.
The blockout end of the range
Two fabrics sit above the numbered meshes, and they are what Nu Style supplies when a space needs to be closed off properly: Vistaweave MAX and HVG Extreme. Both are available on any blind in the range.
Nolan call Vistaweave MAX a closed mesh. In their words it “delivers complete privacy and total view block, offering full protection from sun, wind, and weather” — and it creates visual privacy screening while improving air-conditioning efficiency. It is a 650 gsm fabric, 320 cm wide, PFAS free, with a ten-year warranty, in a colour range drawn from COLORBOND®: Ebony, Flint, Monument, Charcoal, Woodland Grey, Gun Metal, Paperbark, Classic Cream and Surfmist. HVG Extreme is the equivalent in their range, a tight weave blocking over 99% of UV and built for wide spans.
One distinction worth borrowing from Nolan themselves, because it is the honest way to choose. They describe the standard MAX as total view block and complete privacy. For the striped version, engineered with black yarn, they use different words: enhanced blockout and increased darkness. That tells you what the standard closed mesh is for — nobody outside sees in, and the sun and weather stop at the fabric. If what you need is a bedroom that goes properly dark for sleeping, say that at the measure, because it changes what we specify.
Colours, answered.
Can outdoor blind frames be matched to Colorbond®?
Yes. Nu Style powder-coats frames in the Interpon Textura range, which includes the Colorbond® colours, so a frame can be matched to an existing roof, gutter, fascia or window frame.
Which fabric colour lets you see out best?
Darker fabrics give the clearest outward view during the day and cut glare hardest, because the eye is not fighting light bouncing off the weave. Lighter fabrics keep the space brighter but you see less through them and the weave reads more clearly from outside. Most people choose light and are surprised by this, so it is worth testing a sample before deciding.
Does fabric colour change how much heat is blocked?
Openness level does most of the work on heat, not colour. A 99% blockout mesh stops more heat than a 94% mesh in the same colour. Colour affects glare and outward visibility more than temperature.
Will the powder coat fade?
Interpon Textura is an architectural powder coat specified for exterior use, and Nu Style uses marine-grade aluminium underneath it for coastal conditions. Like any exterior finish it weathers over decades rather than years.
Should the frame match the house or the blind?
Almost always the house. A frame matched to the gutter or window frames disappears into the building; a frame matched to the fabric draws attention to the blind as an add-on. The exception is a deliberate contrast on a modern facade — usually black frames against white render.
Can I see the actual colours before ordering?
Yes. Your consultant brings the full frame and fabric sample range to the free measure, and the Malaga showroom holds the complete range. No screen renders a powder coat accurately, so the final choice should always be made from a physical sample.
Why the date holds
Anyone can make a blind. Fewer can finish on the day they said.
Ziptrak and Zipscreen design the product. What Nu Style adds is the part that decides whether your project actually lands: a factory it owns, departments that cover each other, and a phone that still gets answered years later.
Swipe
We make it, so we can date it
Nu Style is a fabricator for Ziptrak® and Zipscreen®, and builds Galaxy, Universal and Luna in its own Malaga factory. Nothing sits in someone else's production queue, which is why a date given here is a date Nu Style controls.
Five departments, not one van
Sales, measure, manufacture, installation and service are separate functions with separate people. That is what makes a date hold when somebody is away, and it is the difference between a business and a busy individual.
Systems, so less goes wrong
Measuring, ordering and fabrication run on systems rather than memory, so errors get caught in the factory instead of on your wall. Fewer remakes means fewer weeks added to your job.
