Why the pelmet size matters.
A pelmet is the box the fabric rolls into, and it sits in plain view above the opening all day whether the blind is down or not. At 100 millimetres the Galaxy pelmet reads as part of the roofline rather than an add-on bolted underneath it. That is the whole argument for Galaxy over a wider-spanning blind: if the opening is under 4.5 metres, there is no reason to accept a larger box.
One sheet, no join
A join in outdoor blind fabric is a weakness in two ways: it is visible from inside as a line across the view, and it is the point where water tracks through in heavy rain. Galaxy spans the full 4.5 metres in a single sheet, so neither problem exists. It is the reason a Galaxy blind looks like part of the building rather than a fitted accessory.
What the motor removes
With a 4.5 metre blind, manual operation is not a small inconvenience — it is the reason blinds stop getting used. A 240 volt motor on a wireless remote means the blind gets lowered on the afternoons it should be, instead of on the afternoons somebody feels like walking outside and cranking it.

How wide can an NSS Galaxy blind be?
An NSS Galaxy blind spans up to 4.5 metres in a single sheet with no join in the fabric. For openings wider than 4.5 metres, NSS Universal spans up to 6 metres.
What is the difference between Galaxy and Universal blinds?
NSS Galaxy runs on a 100 mm pelmet and spans up to 4.5 m. NSS Universal runs on a 130 mm pelmet and spans up to 6 m. The choice is simply whether the opening is wide enough to need Universal, because Galaxy's pelmet is smaller.
How are NSS Galaxy blinds operated?
By a wireless remote handset, which is how every Galaxy blind is supplied. The blind runs on a 240 volt motor, so there is nothing to reach for and no cord to pull. An optional Orvibo hub adds phone app control on top of the remote, letting you run the blinds from anywhere and group them together — the handset keeps working either way, because the hub is an addition rather than a replacement. What colours do Galaxy blinds come in?
NSS Galaxy blinds are powder-coated in the Interpon Textura range, which includes Colorbond® colours, so the frame can be matched to an existing roof, gutter or window frame.
What fabric do Galaxy blinds use?
The same range as every other blind Nu Style makes: woven mesh from 85% to 99% blockout in the HVG and Nolan Vistaweave ranges, or a 100% blockout fabric where a space has to go properly dark. Mesh cuts up to 95% of UV at every openness level — what changes is how much you see out and how much air moves through.
How much does a Galaxy blind cost?

Do Galaxy blinds need servicing?
The motor and mesh are built for outdoor use and need no routine servicing. Nu Style supports the product locally for its life — one customer had a controller replaced free of charge seven years after installation, out of warranty.

Yes. NSS Galaxy runs on a wireless remote as standard, and an optional Orvibo hub adds app control from a phone, so the blinds can be operated from anywhere and grouped together. The remote keeps working either way — the hub is an addition, not a replacement.
